As I look at Lisa’s painting of Jocy, many emotions rush through me. First of all, gratitude of being the recipient of Lisa’s incredible gift. Not only is this artwork of Jocy, a loyal and smart service dog, but it also symbolizes the other nine assistance pups before her that I spent years of my life raising and training to give others a better quality of life. So many hours of training and
socializing the pups, challenges and frustrations along the way, life-long friendships developed, and fun-filled laughter all wrapped up in this one
beautiful creation of Lisa’s.

The overall softness Lisa created in the painting perfectly matches the sweet, playfulness of Jocy’s personality. I later learned from others of Lisa’s sheer determination in getting Jocy’s most
defining physical feature just right — those gorgeous, soulful eyes. Simply said, she nailed it.

Yes, this painting brings up many emotions for me, but mostly it makes me smile. That is the magic of Lisa’s artwork.

Lisa painted a piece of my
17 year old Italian
greyhound. She truly
captured Bella’s essence.
Her eyes had the same
glisten and her coloring was
exact. It’s a piece that I call
my favorite.
